One Year On

Jeez. My blog’s been up for exactly a year today. And it’s amazing I decided to check/post on it today.

So, naturally, this calls for a reminescence.  How much have I changed in a year, really? Probably a lot more than I can really think. I’m taller. My self of steam (to use a Hookism) is, if anything, even lower, and I’m moe cynical than before.

In material things, I completed my SATs. I did both of the theatre pieces (A Night at the Musicals, and The Tale of Two Hoods), so gained lighting experience.

I made friends… and lost some (fell out of contact). Luckily, I’ve never been the type to argue with my friends, thankfully.

More recently, I’ve gone downhill. To put it in the words of my French teacher, I’ve become way more “confrontational”, and gained an annoying disregard for authority. This has to stop, and I know it. “Beatings will continue until morale improves!”, as a certain Bunkerman would put it.

And yes. I still like Sarah. -banghead-

    Happy Anniversary then.

Like we were saying yesterday, I still think one of the greatest benefits in having any sort of journal is that it allows you to go back and really see just how far you’ve come.

Of course, everyone still has room to grow but every time we catch back up again, I honestly do notice significant changes in you, Peter. You used to be this little dude hanging out in the corner, whapping everyone upside the head with a fish, and while I was smacked with a pillow just yesterday, I also see your sensitivity and wisdom shining through. You can still be quiet at times but I’ve always felt you used it to take a step back and better observe the world around you. You still impress me with your acute perception and the times that you do open up are just that much more special. You’re growing into a fine, young man.

Peter, I have very few people I call friend. Many acquaintances and people I like and admire, but few who actually qualify as friend. You are one of those friends. I think you’ve grown up immeasurably and will sort yourself out in time. I think that you will always be a thinker before you actually do something and that’s ok. I am that way as well. Just hang in there and know that you are loved by friends as well as family.
